Acne

Using a vitamin for acne or a vitamin supplement for acne is becoming quite popular. Taking vitamins and minerals can help balance the body’s hormonal and nutritional needs and are clinically proven to be effective in acne treatment.

The following vitamins and minerals are especially good at reducing acne.

1. Vitamin A

Vitamin A with carotenoids strengthens the protective tissue of the skin and prevents acne formation by reducing sebum production. Vitamin A is essential for the maintenance and repair of the tissue which the skin and mucous membranes are made of. Vitamin A is also a powerful antioxidant that relieves your body of oxidative stress caused by free radicals.

Today, doctors commonly prescribe safer medications made from derivatives of vitamin A, such as retinoic acid (Retin A, a popular prescription cream for acne and wrinkles) and isotretinoin (Accutane, an oral drug prescribed for severe acne).

2. Vitamin B-Complex

  • Vitamin B2 :- Riboflavin or vitamin B2 works with Vitamin A to maintain and improve the mucous membranes in your digestive tract. It is also essential for healthy skin, hair and nails. Acne is one of the symptoms of riboflavin deficiency. The dosage of vitamin b2 recommended to fight acne is 100 mg, 3 times daily.
  • Vitamin B3 :- It is also important for healthy skin by improving circulation and helping your body with the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. A deficiency in Niacinamide will cause acne.
  • Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic acid) :- Vitamin B5 is another one of the vitamins to clear skin. This vitamin plus a cream that contains 20% pantothenic acid by weight should be applied four to six times a day.
  • Vitamin B6 :- Contributes to maintaining good skin tone, boosts peripheral circulation and helps the body fight infection. Extra niacin helps to boost blood circulation to the skin prompting better waste removal and healing to affected areas. Vitamin B6 helps to normalize the metabolism of hormones which can initiate an acne outbreak.

3. Vitamin C

Vitamin C and bioflavonoids are another set of antioxidants that are required for at least 300 metabolic functions in the body, including tissue growth and repair. Vitamin C protects against infection and enhances immunity. Bioflavanoids have an antibacterial effect. The recommended dosage to fight acne is 1000 mg 3 times daily.

4. Vitamin E for Acne

Vitamin E protects the cell membranes from damage. It helps to maintain healthy skin by eliminating harmful free radicals generated during cellular metabolism, with its antioxidant properties. Studies have shown that vitamin E may help skin recover from acne scarring and reduce the appearance of scars left by acne. Vitamin E regulates the retinol level in humans.  Retinol, or commonly known as vitamin A, is essential for healthy skin, mucous membranes and proper eyesight.

5. Chromium

Helps to reduce skin inflammation and improve glucose tolerance. Some studies indicate that glucose tolerance can be impaired in some people suffering from acne. Suggested Dosage: 400 mcg daily of the GTF or picolinate type. Brewer’s yeast is a good source of chromium, although it should not be used with anyone who has a yeast sensitivity or is prone to yeast infections.

6. Zinc

Zinc has been linked to skin health because it enhances the immune system, reduces inflammation, and promotes healthy hormone levels. Acne may improve as a result. In one study, zinc when taken in conjunction with topical prescription antibiotic solutions, such as erythromycin and clindamycin, considerably increased the capacity of these medications to clear up the acne. Doctors sometimes suggest that people with acne take 30 mg of zinc two or three times per day for a few months, then 30 mg per day thereafter. It often takes 12 weeks before any improvement is seen. Long-term zinc supplementation requires 1-2 mg of copper per day to prevent causing a copper deficiency.

7. Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3 fatty acids have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. They maintain healthy cell membranes and ensure the normal transport of nutrients into cells. For those reasons, a supplement of omega-3 fats is one of the most important nutrients for acne.

Do you suffer from acne or unsightly skin blemishes?

Using a strong effective cleansing skin care product should help your condition. Even if you do not suffer from a skin condition, proper skin cleansing will help keep your skin looking and feeling healthy. The main causes of skin blemishes are dirt, oil and bacteria.

Choosing a cleansing skin care product is not difficult if you know what to look for. Try to stay away from department store brands, as they are usually not very effective. Look for products that contain all natural ingredients. The problem with cheap, knock off products is that they could very well make your skin condition worse.

Do you use a bar of soap to wash your face? Well actually this may not be such a good idea. Many brands of soap are quite harsh and were not meant for your face. Some will remove too much moisture from your skin and thus dry it out. Others may leave an oily residue on your skin, which could lead to acne or blemishes forming.

Your best option is find a cleansing skin care product designed specifically for your face. There are different types of skin cleansing products. Choose the appropriate product depending on your skin type. For example, if you have oily skin then you should use a product designed specifically for that type of skin.

If you have dry skin, find a cleansing skin care cream that adds moisture along with a natural exfoliating ingredient.

So many people rely on fancy advertising to determine what skin cleansing product to use. Would you rather trust a product from a company that spends their money on advertising or on a company that spends their money on research and development?

People do not realize that the chemicals from poor quality products are being absorbed into their skin each time they use these inferior products.

Choose a cleansing skin care product made from natural ingredients.

Look at the products offered by Xtend-Life.

They make their own products and spend their money on research and development, not on fancy, expensive advertising campaigns.

You will not find these products on the shelves of your local store. They can only be purchased online. Stop using inferior products manufactured with synthetic ingredients. Skin cleansing is an important part of maintaining your overall health and well-being. Do not take it lightly.

Thus, in conclusion, be aware of what you are putting on your face. Choose natural cleansing skin care products and avoid putting harmful chemicals on your face.

For that matter, have you ever wondered why you have oily skin! What exactly causes it and what steps do you take in regards to oily skin care. In most cases, it is caused by overactive sebaceous glands that cause dead skin cells to accumulate in hair follicles. The sebaceous glands are the oil glands.

If these glands are overactive then that is usually a result of a hormone imbalance. It could be permanent or it could be temporary. Regardless of whether it is temporary or permanent there are oily skincare products available for your skin.

This will cause an increase in the secretion of sebum, which is the liquid the sebaceous gland produces. OK, that is enough of the technical jargon, isn’t it!

Another factor that can contribute to oily skin resulting in the need for oily skincare products is overexposure to the sun and humid weather. When you look for products for this skin type, focus on products that contain natural ingredients. Chemical additives can cause adverse reactions on your skin. Whereas, natural products are much easier on your skin.
